You may add/transfer funds into your upstox account from a registered bank account via different modes.
Payin Modes
Note: If you are adding/transferring funds through 'Net banking', there will be a charge of ₹7 for every transaction. We do not charge for UPI transfer, GPay, NEFT/RTGS/IMPS & Cheque.
Time-Frame of Payin
If you’re using an older version of the Upstox app, read this:
Step 1: Login to the Upstox App using your Upstox User ID, Password, and Passcode (Year of Birth).
Step 2: Proceed to the funds section where you can add funds for securities or commodities.
Step 3: You can add funds in any one of the following ways mentioned below:
If you’re using the updated version of the Upstox app, read this
Step 1: Login to the Upstox app using your 6-digit Pin or Biometrics.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Account’ tab.
Step 3: Click on ‘Add funds’ as per the trading account
Step 4: You can add funds in any one of the following ways:
1. Net Banking
Net banking or Internet banking is an electronic payment system that enables you to transfer funds in real-time directly to Upstox.
Select the Net banking button on the app. This will cost you ₹7 for every transfer you make. After selecting this, you will be taken to the bank’s Net banking website where you can enter your credentials to pay.

2. UPI transfer
Using UPI is free.
Simply enter your UPI ID and you should receive a payment request on your UPI app.
Once you accept this request, the amount will be credited to your account instantly. List of UPI Apps.
3. Google Pay (GPay)
Once you select ‘Gpay’ and click ‘continue’, a page will pop up on your Upstox platform. Enter your pin to make a successful payment.
Only Android users will be able to see the Gpay payin mode in their mobile app.
4. NEFT/RTGS/IMPS
Log in to your registered bank account with Upstox and enter the following details to transfer funds via
NEFT/RTGS/IMPS:
Note- You should be using your registered bank account for IMPS transfers. Avoid transferring funds through IMPS using PSP Apps such as BHIM, Google pay, etc.
5. Cheque
Fill the following details and deposit a cheque at any HDFC bank addressed to:
- Please send us a scanned copy or photo of the cheque to [email protected].
- Cheques are accepted as long as they are incoming from the same bank account registered with Upstox. You can write the cheque to our account name (details are mentioned above).
- You may also check the transaction history from 'Recent transactions’ in the ‘Securities/Commodities Wallet’ section which contains all your withdrawals and deposits.
