We are sorry to know that you wish to close your account with us, and request you to reach customer care so we can try our best to solve your concern. However, in case you still wish to go ahead and close your account, follow these steps:
Step 1: Login to the Upstox app using your 6-digit PIN or Biometrics.
Step 2: Click on ‘Account’ at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: Click on ‘My Account’.
Step 4: Click on ‘Profile’.
Step 5: Scroll till the end, choose ‘Account Closure’ under ‘Profile'. This will redirect you to the closure page.
Step 6: Please select a reason why do you wish to close your account?
Step 7: Ensure you have no holdings in your Upstox account, then click on "Close account".
Please Note:
1. In case you have remaining funds, they will be credited to the primary bank account linked to your Upstox account.
2. Please download all the reports related to your Demat account early, as you won’t be able to access them after closing your account.
Step 8: A 6-digit code will be sent to your email ID and mobile number.
Step 9: Your request is now under review. Account closure takes 3 to 4 working days, and we will notify you via email.
1. Selling Holdings:
If you presently have holdings in your account, you'd need to sell them before requesting for account closure and details with steps on how to sell them will be mentioned in the account closure link you would receive via sms. This link also has steps for selling holdings.
2. Clearing debit balance/pending dues:
If you presently have pending dues/debit balance, you'd need to clear the dues before requesting for account closure and details with steps on how to do the same are mentioned in the account closure link you would receive via sms. This link also has steps for adding funds to your account to clear off the pending dues.
3. Mutual Fund holdings:
If you have any mutual fund holdings in your account, you’d need to redeem them before proceeding with account closure. This link has steps for how to redeem your Mutual Fund holdings.
4. Open Trade Position:
If you have any open trade positions in your account, please clear/square off your open trade positions before proceeding with account closure. This link has steps on how you can clear/square off your open trade positions.
