When you open an Upstox account, the Stock (Equities) segment and Mutual Funds are activated by default. This means you can start investing and trading in these segments instantly.
However, other segments, such as Futures & Options (F&O), Currencies (CUR), and Commodities (MCX), are optional and require additional activation. To activate these segments, you must submit sufficient income proof. This is because each of these segments has unique trading rules, timings, and products that differ from Stocks and Mutual Funds.
Why is Income Proof Required?
Customers trading in the F&O, Currency, and Commodity segments need to upload financial documents as income proof. This ensures compliance with trading regulations and demonstrates the financial capability required for these segments.
