Applying for an IPO on the Upstox platform is easy. 

All you need to do is follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to the Upstox app using your 6-digit PIN or Biometrics

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘More’ tab at the bottom menu and select ‘IPO’

Step 3: In the ‘Explore’ section, you’ll see a list of IPOs available for application. Click ‘Apply Now’ on your desired IPO


  • To view SME IPOs, check the ‘Show SME’ checkbox


Step 4: Click on ‘Apply Now’ or choose ‘View Full Timeline’ for detailed IPO information.

Step 5: Fill in the required details and click ‘Continue to Apply’.


Step 6: Enter your UPI ID and click ‘Continue to Apply’.


Step 7: Check your application status by selecting ‘Timeline’ or ‘Summary’. A UPI mandate payment pending message will appear


Step 8: Open your mentioned UPI app and approve the mandate request.


Step 9: Once the mandate is accepted, you can track your application under the ‘View Application’ tab

To view the detailed IPO timeline, check the ‘Timeline’ section with date-wise updates.


Note: The IPO ‘Apply’ button will be enabled during non-market hours for initial two days. However the mandate will be created during business hours only i.e. from 10 am to 5 pm and as per the exchange noticemandate acceptance time shall expire at 5 pm on the closing day of the IPO.

Important:

The bank account mapped to the UPI ID should be of the person applying for the IPO. The IPO application will get rejected if a different UPI ID is used. 

Mandate Refund: Refund will be done within 10 days or till the end date of Mandate.Your bank is supposed to release the IPO blocked amount automatically on or before the mandate expiry date if you haven't got the IPO allotment. The bank account used to block IPO funds will be the one where the mandate refund amount (if applicable) will be reflected. Hence, ensure to check only this bank account for the mandate refund amount.
