- Step-up SIP is a feature that allows you to gradually increase your SIP amount at regular intervals, helping you grow your investments in line with your financial goals.
- To add a step-up to an existing Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) on Upstox, follow these steps:
1. Log in to the new Upstox app with your credentials.
2. If you’re on the ‘Upstox for investors’ tab you’ll see a ‘Mutual Fund’ section on the bottom navigation bar. If you’re on the ‘Upstox Pro for traders’ tab the ‘Mutual Fund’ section can be found from the ‘Discover’ section.
3. In the Mutual Funds section, click on ‘Portfolio’ and look for the SIPs tab.
4. Check your active SIP details, then click on ‘Add’ to set up a step-up for your SIP.
5. Click on the ‘Step-up’ option and choose how you want the step-up to be applied—either by ‘Percentage’ or ‘Amount’. Once you have entered the desired step-up details, click on ‘Add Step-up’ to confirm.
Once your step-up is added successfully, you will receive a confirmation email or notification.
Your SIP will now follow the updated step-up instructions starting from the selected frequency i.e. 3M, 6M or 1Y.
Notes:
- Step-up Increase: The step-up increases your SIP contribution by a fixed amount at regular intervals (like quarterly or annually).
- Eligibility: Ensure your SIP supports step-up options, as not all funds may have this feature.
- Tax Considerations: Keep in mind the tax implications if you increase your SIP amount.
By following these steps, you can easily add a step-up to your existing SIP on Upstox and grow your investments progressively over time.
