If you’re using the updated version of the Upstox app, read this. 

To place a Mutual Funds order, follow these steps:

 Step 1: Log in to the Upstox app using your 6-digit Pin or Biometrics.

 Step 2: Navigate to the 'Account' tab on the bottom navigation bar and toggle to 'Upstox - For investors' using the button above on the screen.

Step 3: Next click on ‘Switch to Upstox for investors’ and at the bottom you will find ‘Mutual Funds’.

Step 4: Upon selecting 'Explore', various smartlists will be visible for you to explore and choose the fund.

Step 5: Select the fund and tap on ‘One-time’.

Step 6: Next you can select the predefined amount provided or click on ‘Custom’ to modify the amount.

Step 7: Enter the amount and click on continue.

Step 8: Review your one-time order details before proceeding, once confirmed click on 'Proceed to payment’. You can also check stamp duty charges under 'View tax & charges.' 

Step 9: You have the option to choose Net banking/UPI as the payment method to finalize the payment.

Step 10: In case of Net banking, the registered bank page will appear to complete your payment for a one-time investment. 

Step 11: After completing the payment through net banking/UPI, a one-time order will be successfully executed. The funds will be deducted from your registered bank account and not from the Upstox account.

Step 12: Additionally, you can view the details of your one-time investment payment order as outlined below. Usually, the units will be credited within 2-3 working days.

Note: In some funds, one time investments may not be possible.

If you’re using an older version of the Upstox app, read this.

To place a Mutual Funds order follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to the Upstox app by entering mobile number or User ID.

Step 2: Enter the OTP

Step 3: Now enter your 6 digit PIN.

Step 4: Navigate to the 'Invest' tab in the bottom navigation bar, then select 'View All Funds' within the Mutual Funds section.

Step 5: Navigate or search for the desired fund using the Search/Browse Fund option provided.

Step 6: After choosing the fund, you will see options such as ‘SIP’ or ‘One-time buy’.

If you wish to make a one-time lump sum investment, click on the 'One-time buy' option.

Investing via a lump sum amount: If you click on the ‘One-time buy' button, you need to enter the amount that you wish to invest in that particular fund. Then, click on 'Review'.

After reviewing your order, select 'Place Order' to proceed with your one-time investment.

Step 7: Upon selecting 'place order,' you must authenticate your payment through Netbanking/UPI. Kindly choose the registered bank account through which you intend to complete the payment.

After clicking on 'authorize payment,' you will be directed to the bank page of your registered bank. There, you can log in and subsequently enter the OTP to finalize the payment.

Step 8: After the completion of your payment, the one-time investment will be successfully initiated.


Note: Kindly be aware that the purchase of mutual fund units now involves direct payment through the user's bank account.In accordance with SEBI's announcement, the utilization of a shared fund wallet/account for both Stocks and Mutual Funds transactions has been discontinued. Step 9: At the top of the screen, clicking on 'View Portfolio' will lead you to the Mutual Funds portfolio section. From there, navigate to 'View Order History,' where you can review your order status under the 'Open Orders' tab.

Typically, in T+3 trading days the order will get completed and you will get the units if the payment is successful.
