To place a Mutual Funds order follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to the Upstox app using your User ID and Password.

Step 2: Enter your birth year to verify your account.

Step 3: Go to the 'Invest' tab from the bottom navigation bar and click on 'View All Funds' from the Mutual Funds section.

 Step 4: Scroll or search for the desired fund from the Search/Browse Fund option available.

 Step 5: Once you select the fund, you will see options such as ‘Start SIP’ or ‘One Time’.

If you wish to make a one-time lump sum investment, click on the 'One Time' option.

Investing via a lump sum amount: If you click on the ‘One-time' button, you need to enter the amount that you wish to invest in that particular fund. Then, click on 'Review'.

                                   

 

Once you have reviewed your order, click on ‘Place Order’ to make your one-time investment.


Step 6: After clicking on place order, you need to authorise your payment via Netbanking/UPI. Please select the registered bank account via which you wish to make the payment.


Once you click on authorise payment, you will see the bank page of the registered bank wherein you can log in and then enter OTP to complete the payment.


Step 7: Once your payment is done, the one-time investment will be placed successfully. 



Note: Please note that the payment when buying mutual funds units is happening now via the user’s bank account directly. As per the announcement by SEBI, the usage of a common fund wallet/account for Stocks and Mutual Funds transactions will be discontinued. For more information refer to the below circular link

Step 8: On the bottom of the screen above when you click on ‘View Portfolio’,  it will redirect to the Mutual Funds portfolio section where you need to click on View Order History. Under that, you can check your order status under the Open orders tab. 

Typically, in T+3 trading days the order will get completed and you will get the units if the payment is successful.

Step 2: Click Explore funds in the mutual funds card under the 'Discover' tab.



Step 3: You will be directed to the Mutual Fund Discover page after clicking Explore funds.

Step 4: Select the fund, then select 'Start SIP' or 'One Time'.

If you want to make a one-time lump sum investment, click on the 'One Time' option. Now, Enter the amount you wish to invest in the fund. Then, click on 'Review'.

Step 5: Review your order and click on ‘Place Order’ to make your one-time investment.


Step 6: After clicking on place order, you need to authorise your payment via Netbanking/UPI. Please select the registered bank account via which you wish to make the payment.


Once you click on authorise payment, you will see the bank page of the registered bank wherein you can log in and then enter OTP to complete the payment.

Once your payment has been done via net banking/UPI successfully you will see a confirmation message that your one-time investment is done!



Step 8: Visit ‘View Order History’ under the MF Portfolio section where you can check your order status under the Open orders tab. Typically, in T+3 days the order will get completed and you will get the units if the payment is successful.
