If you are not able to see your strategy position under the strategy tab then here are the possible things that have taken place on your account.

  • Partial closure of strategy position

    • You might be attempting to enter or exit out of strategy but due to illiquidity the strategy was not fully closed. This results in a handicapped position so Upstox will break the strategy and convert the positions to Delivery. They will start reflecting under the ‘Regular’ tab under ‘Positions’. You can exit the positions individually once the contract becomes liquid.

  • Less quantity available than required or contract not available

    • If the position for some contract in a strategy has an offsetting position in delivery, this will lead to reducing the quantity at an account level. Eg. If a Bull Call Spread had a 100 qty of Nifty buy for 16500 Call and the user has also placed an individual delivery order of 50 qty of Nifty sell for 16500 Call. In this case the Bull call spread would expect 100 qty in the next session but as now the qty remained is just 50 which is insufficient to maintain the bull call spread, it will break the strategy and convert all associated order with this strategy contracts to delivery and they will start showing under the regular tab. You can exit the positions individually if needed.

    • In  the same way If a bull call spread had a 100 qty of Nifty buy for 16500 Call and user has also placed an individual delivery order of 100 qty of Nifty sell for 16500 Call. In this case the Bull call spread would expect 100 qty in the next session but the net qty would be 0. In this case it will break the strategy and convert all associated orders with this strategy contracts to delivery and they will start showing under the regular tab. You can exit the positions individually if needed.
