If you cannot see your strategy position under the strategy tab, several factors might be at play in your account. Here are potential scenarios that could explain the absence of your strategy position:
Partial Closure of Strategy Position:
- If you attempted to enter or exit a strategy, but due to illiquidity, the strategy was not fully closed, Upstox will break the strategy and convert the positions to Delivery. These will then reflect under the 'Regular' tab within 'Positions.' You can exit the positions individually once the contract becomes liquid.
Less Quantity Available than Required or Contract Not Available:
- If a position for a contract in a strategy has an offsetting position in delivery, it reduces the quantity at an account level. For example, if a Bull Call Spread had a 100 quantity of Nifty buy for the 16500 Call and you placed an individual delivery order of 50 quantities of Nifty sell for the 16500 Call, the Bull Call Spread would expect 100 quantities in the next session. However, as the remaining quantity is only 50, insufficient to maintain the bull call spread, the strategy will break, and associated orders will be converted to delivery, showing under the regular tab. You can exit positions individually if needed.
- Similarly, if a Bull Call Spread had a 100 quantity of Nifty buy for the 16500 Call, and you placed an individual delivery order of 100 quantities of Nifty sell for the 16500 Call, the Bull Call Spread would expect 100 quantities in the next session, but the net quantity would be 0. In this case, the strategy will break, and associated orders will be converted to delivery, showing under the regular tab. You can exit positions individually if needed.
