How are stop-loss and target orders placed in the case of a partial execution of the primary leg of the order?

In case of a partial execution of the primary leg of the order, the stop-loss and target legs are placed as below:

• Intraday 

  • If a GTT order is placed as an intraday order, target and stop-loss orders are not placed till the time the primary leg is executed completely. 

  • If the primary leg is partially traded, the pending quantity will be cancelled.

  • Traded quantity for primary order will be squared off.

• Delivery

  • If a GTT order is placed as a delivery order, the target and stop-loss orders are not placed till the primary leg is executed completely. 

  • If the primary leg is partially traded at market closing hours, the pending quantity shall be cancelled at the end of the day.

  • Traded quantity for primary order will be placed under the ‘Positions’ tab or ‘Holdings’ tab.

  • Target and stop-loss legs will be created on the next trading day for the same quantity as the primary leg traded quantity.
