Redemption Steps:

In order to redeem your investment, place a redemption request by following these steps:

Step 1: Log in to the Upstox app using your 6-digit PIN or biometrics.

Step 2: Navigate to the 'Account' tab on the bottom navigation bar and switch to 'Upstox - For investors' by using the toggle button above on the screen.

Step 3: Next click on ‘Switch to Upstox for investors’ and at the bottom you will see ‘Mutual Funds’.

Step 4: Under the Portfolio tab, you can view your 'Investments' along with the current value and Total Profit/Loss. Select the fund name you intend to redeem and then click on 'Sell'.

Step 5: Following this, a confirmation window will appear to ensure that you intend to sell the MF units.

Step 6: Now you can sell the MF investments selecting as by amount or by units. 

Please note that it may be possible that all your units are not redeemable because of the lock in period of the fund.

When you follow the steps and choose either sell by amount/custom or sell by units/custom, you will see the sell review order window. Here too, you can view the tax and charges.

Step 7: You will be redirected to the CDSL page to enter the TPIN for authorising the sale transaction. Generate a fresh TPIN or if you already have the TPIN, you can reuse it.

Note: If you’re an iOS user, allow the pop-up window.

Step 8: Enter the TPIN.

Step 9: Verify the transaction by entering the OTP received on your registered mobile number and email ID.

Step 10: After approving the transaction on the CDSL page, you have to click the close button on the below screen. If you are using the Upstox web portal, post approving the transaction of the CDSL page you need to return to the Upstox page after closing the CDSL tab.

Step 11: Once you are back on the Upstox MF page, check the number of units you wish to redeem and click on the ‘Place order

Step 12: Once you click on the Place order, you will be able to see if the redemption request is successfully placed.

The amount will be credited to your bank account within 7 working days.

You will see a message confirming the sell request.

Step 13: Click on orders under Portfolio, you will be able to see your sell order status. This is where you may check when the redemption amount will be credited to your account here.

Note: According to SEBI guidelines, mutual fund redemptions will now be directly credited to your bank account rather than the Upstox wallet. The process may take up to T+N working days (as per the provided table) from the successful redemption request. A confirmation message will be displayed upon the confirmation of the sell request.

Until further notice, you do not need to pay CDSL charges for mutual fund redemption or sale.
