If the margin usage exceeds the available margin in my Upstox account, what will happen?

If there is a margin shortfall in your Upstox account, you will receive notifications via email and SMS to your registered Email IDs and mobile number from the Upstox team. You will also get a notification in the inbox section wherein you can add the funds to retain the position or you can close your existing position.  To address the margin shortfall, you will need to add the necessary funds to your Upstox Trading account.

Adding funds is essential because the position that you hold would be in loss/ negative, so to avoid a square off, it is mandatory to have sufficient funds in your Trading account.
